In Guangzhou, there is a rumor going around.
If you didn’t see the Shirley Wong Paintings, you really haven’t seen the real today City’s source of amazement, a trend toward the future.
That’s strange ? Isn’t it ?
Isn’t it the Chen Clan Academy (Chén Jiā Cí), this incredible masterwork built in 1894 during the Qing Dynasty worth of such a reputation ?
Isn’t it the Chìgǎng tǎ built over four hundred years ago in 1619 during the Ming Dynasty that deserve such title ?
However, those relics of the past are wonderful.
They give all its prestige of this city once, a long time ago, called Panyu.
But, today, a new wind of talented artist rises in the Guangzhou sky.
Here comes Shirley Wong, a beautiful and gorgeous Lady, an efficient artist-painter.
She belonged to a well-to-do artist family.
And she is obviously more than that, I mean, a source of happiness.
Once, a German friend from Dresden told me :
- Look carefully to all those paintings, a thousand times if necessary. Then you will see the light that embraces the world !
Another friend, a Scottish guy rooted in Edinburg added at his time :
- Take each painting for what it’s worth and as long as you can see a light at the end, let that be the strength that guides you,’
As a result of all those advises, I have reviewed each.
It’s true, I received ten times in my eyes a wonderful light whether the dominant color was blue or green and so.
Those paintings stand lively with aromas that epitomize the Mediterranean local style.
Others, the Italian northern lake.
Others, the charm of the northern Guangdong landscapes.
For me, the end result is a very simplified, but complex, representation of what makes painting so evocative or magical and saturated with narrative.
Here is indeed a curious situation.
The Shirley paintings need now a writer to give them eternal life and limitless glory in Heaven.
Thanks, Shirley for such gift.
