Are the Chinese being smarter in fifty years ? Is the Beijing Genomics Institute (Huádà Jīyīn 华大基因) doing well ?

A jùn mǎ tale 俊 马 故事
All parents dream that their children to be a genius (qí cái 奇才), isn’it ?
That will be happening fairly soon !
The Beijing Genomics Institute (Huádà Jīyīn 华大基因) focuses on understanding the DNA sequencing (cè xù 测序) and genetic mapping of a “genius”.
If this work leads to tangible results, as a next step, a in-vitro fertilization (人工授孕) test shall be provided to parents for the selection of the embryos (tāi 胎) supposedly “the most intelligent”.
For the supporters of this solution, the intelligence quotient (IQ) of the people would consequently improve.
In my opinion, with the exception of the treatment of genetic diseases (yí chuán bing 遗传病), I do think that the Huádà Jīyīn research echoes to the eugenics belief (yōu shēng xué 优生学) that was a justification for the racial policies of Nazi Germany, the gloomiest pages of our history.
Further to the fact that this social engineering approach could lead probably to the loss of genetic diversity, eradicate certain single-gene mutations would be nearly impossible.
Moreover this solution mainly unethical (dào dé 道德) would destroy the human behavior in harmony with nature. Since long, the concept of human supremacy over the environment is outdated.
So if your son is not a genius according to his school intelligence quotient (IQ) standardized test might suggest, do not worry !!!!!
Intelligence can be defined in many different ways.
As for instance, Louis Armstrong who during his childhood failed all his exams, constantly at the bottom of the class but who was an “absolute genius” bringing so much to the music, so close to the sensitivity of the human being.
Let me remind those two quotes from Albert Einstein.
« The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination. »
And this one, funniest :
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
